Bosa Area

Description

The area is in the central-northern part of the island. To reach Bosa, it is necessary to touch the far south of the Campeda plateau and the western edge of the Marghine range. In just a few kilometres, one passes from a view of low, rocky hills, with nuraghes on the top, to a sort of flatland, which is sunny in the summer and cold in the winter. The Capo Marrargiu mountains can be seen silhouetted in the background to the north. From the opposite side, the mountain boundary is marked by the Montiferru range, covered by woodland, except for the hill that is home to the medieval castle. The flat land is called Planargia. After the bends around Macomer, the main road (National Road SS 129 bis) cuts the district into two parts, directly entering the towns of Sindia and Suni. From here, it is possible to continue along the ridge and come across the villages of Flussio, Tinnura, Magomadas and Tresnuraghes. Vice versa, it is possible to leave the flat land and begin the descent towards the sea. The road winds along the white limestone rocks and the view is filled with the vineyard colours. In the background to the left, there is the small village of Modolo, followed by the colourful view of Bosa and the green valley of the Temo.
